Wallabies and Red winger Peter Hynes has re-signed with the Reds for the first two years of Super 15 rugby which starts next year.

Hynes, the Wallabies test rookie of 2008, debuted for the Reds in 2003 and has played 86 matches for the Reds and 22 for Australia.

The 27-year-old Hynes made his test debut for Australia on June 11, 2008 as a run-on winger against Ireland and was man of the match against France two weeks later.

"There are a lot of things to play for and a lot of things I want to achieve in the next couple of years," Hynes said.

"I want to be part of the Reds becoming a dominant force in Super Rugby... there’s also a World Cup in New Zealand next year."

The Reds had a resurgent year in the Super 14 tournament this season, finishing in fifth place just outside a playoff spot.

Their record of eight victories and five losses marked their first winning season in seven years.
