Wallabies captain Rocky Elsom has ended what has been months of speculation over whether he will stay with the Brumbies or move on by recommitting to the Brumbies.
The Wallaby captain will play in next season's Super 15 with the Brumbies and not the Melbourne Rebels after he opted against exercising a get-out clause in his contract.
The clause in his contract would have allowed him to leave the Brumbies franchise following this year's Super 14.
Elsom has yet to make his decision public as he is with the Wallabies for his 50th Test on Saturday against Fiji in Canberra
Sources in Australia say that apparently Elsom agreed just before midnight on Tuesday to stay with the two-time Super Rugby champions - who have not made the finals since 2004.
Elsom returned to Australia last year after winning the Heineken Cup with Irish club Leinster.
Before playing in Ireland he spent six seasons with the Waratahs.
